Cooking vessels and nutrition!





Venkalam:
Cooking in venkalam vessels prevents many diseases. But avoid cooking ghee and sour items.

Iron vessels:
Reduces body heat
Cures anemia
Increases the taste of food.

Thamiram (Copper):
Food stays fresh for long time
Drinking tea prepared in thamiram vessel kills the body's germs.

Ulcer

  1. Coriander: put powdered coriander seeds into boiling water. Add karupatti/sugar. Add milk if desired. This reduces giddiness and BP. Reduces pitha and increases digestion.
  2. Eat jeera soaked in lemon for 12 hrs

Nature cure for piles
1         Take anar juice with panamkalkandu. 
2     Take yam.
3         Kambu prevents piles.
4         Put 1tsp fenugreek in tender coconut and leave it overnight. Consume it next mrng.  Continue for 5 days.
5     Soak athi pazham in water and consume 3 in morning and evening
6   Consume pepper,fennel,honey
7   Consume cooked and mashed fenugreek. 

Chew well:
1         Enzymes in saliva help in digestion. Seventy percent of digestion happens in mouth itself. So, chew well. Pancreas is capable of digesting a certain amount only.
2         Pancreas in children is not developed completely. So, they involuntarily chew food for long time. Don’t force them to chew fast.
3         People with diabetes have weak pancreas. They should chew well.


To cure scars caused by chicken pox
Apply curry leaves, kasakasa, kasthuri manjal. Then wash with kadalai /green gram flour.

To cure teeth biting(Bruxism)
Aria keerai – 1 handful,
Vallarai – 1 handful.
Manathalli keerai – 1 handful.
Jeera – 1 tsp
Sombu – 1 tsp.
Pepper – 5
Garlic – 3
Small onion – 3

To cure wound in intestines
Eat banana flower, kovakkai and drumstick greens

  5. Gargle with honey and water before going to bed to remove bacteria. This also protects enamel.



Tips on choosing paste and brush
Paste:
  1. If you have cavities, choose one with fluoride
  2. For sensitive tooth, use ones containing strontium chloride
  3. For bleeding gums, use one with tannic acid.

Brush:
  1. For straight teeth : brush should be straight
  2. For non straight teeth : brush should bend.


How to avoid toxins in the body?
  1. Toxins result in dark spots in the body.
  2. Avoid Nonveg. Else consume without a single drop of blood.
  3. Avoid constipation. Drink sufficient water. Too much or too little water leads to constipation.
  4. Avoid consuming dry fish, esp with brinjal and tamarind
  5. Groundnut oil increases toxins. Heating olive oil increases toxins.
  6. Don’t add too much tamarind to brinjal.
